Flabbergast is hybrid of all the action adventure shows and comics I grew up on. Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Astro Boy, Fantastic Four, Lost in Space, and X-Files just to name a few. It’s a family friendly comic about a team of Kung-Fu Science Adventurists called FLABBERGAST and their battles against paranormal, fantastical and otherworldly threats. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, because the comic just started. I can give you the main characters names though… (order as they appear in the pic above) Lincoln Moss, Valerie Tezuka, Stax Hawthorne. Happyloo was originally pitched as a children’s television series. At first, the show was to be about an entire town of characters. Yes, each one of the characters has their own story and personality. All but five were cut for the current Happyloo Cartoon Novel. The characters that didn’t make it into Happyloo will be used in future projects from MyPalMark.
After heavy development, Happyloo is now an all-ages Cartoon Novel. It is a collection wordless adventures followed by an adult supervised section entitled Happyloo@Home. This section was developed in cooperation with a certified elementary teacher (my lovely wife Megan Mariano.) It provides children with hands-on activities connecting their everyday lives to Happyloo. Each activity will build on various aspects of child development such as motor, cognitive, and social development. Now who said comic books are bad for kids?
