I highly recommend it for young readers children or for kids who’ve never read a graphic novel before. Or for adults who remember what it’s like to chase rainbows.

As a reading specialist and educator, I can say with expertise that this book is GREAT.
The vibrant colors and detailed pictures provide multiple opportunities for you and children to interact with this text. The characters are loveable, adorable, and identifiable. I've seen children draw these characters on their own, their simplistic design allowing children to dive right into becoming part of the story.
The Happyloo@home section provides a multitude of opportunities to allow DISCUSSION about and beyond the text. Children develop higher level thinking with the discussion questions and can extend their own creativity with the additional projects related to the text.
And educators…IT'S LEVELED. Perfect for your leveled library! It would be excellent to use as individual, small, or whole group instruction. The wording is simplistic, but decodable, allowing children to develop their vocabulary. The images allow children to predict, as well. It could be used with older students, too. They can create their own stories based on the characters, teachers can make the comic wordless and have the students make up their own words, etc. And Happyloo@home has deliberate educational activities.
For the price?! How could you pass this up? It's original, educational, and colorful. Perfect!

You can definitely see the heart of the author in his words and illustrations. I loved how they found helping others is its own reward and the pot of gold DID exist, driving home the point of helping to make the world a more colorful place has value!

The adorable characters and the colorful pages drew me into this comic book. The story line is wholesome without beating the reader over the head with a moral. The characters are fun and relatable, and I especially like Meatsauce for his comic relief. I would highly recommend "Happyloo" and all of Mark's other comic books to the kids in my life because I am confident that child readers will be both entertained and educated by the text. The "Happyloo at Home" section at the end of the book gives children a mini science lesson about rainbows, which are present in the story. What a great way to encourage children to read!
